It is what you
actually believe that determines how you walk out your faith.
But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, quarrels and fights about the Torah; because they are worthless and futile. (Titus 3:9)

Developing a
Systematic Messianic Theology
“The purpose of careful theological formulations is not to put barriers in the way of people who are seeking salvation, but to define clearly the truths upon which genuine [Biblical] faith rests, so that people will not be misled by false doctrines.”[GN]

Divisions of the Aaronic Priesthood
and Their Schedule of Temple Service
Please note that this is at best an educated guess. There is no way of knowing with any degree of certainty either the actual date on which the priesthood schedule began, nor can we determine when the Hebrew ”leap month” fell at the time of Yeshua’s and Yochannan’s conception and birth. This schedule does, however, support theologically the concept that Yeshua was born during Sukkot (Tabernacles).
An annotated calendar showing the courses, or divisions, of the Aaronic Priesthood serving in the Temple throughout the year, and the correspondence between the Hebrew and Western calendars. The true dates of birth of both Yochanan the Immerser and Yeshua HaMashiach are calculated according to this schedule as given in the Scriptures themselves.
“Shemayah the son of Netan'el the Sofer, who was of the Levites, wrote them in the presence of the king, and the princes, and Tzadok the Kohen, and Achimelekh the son of Avyatar, and the heads of the fathers' [houses] of the Kohanim and of the Levites; one fathers' house being taken for El`azar, and one taken for Itamar. Now the first lot came forth to Yehoiariv, the second to Yedayah, the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim, the fifth to Malkiyah, the sixth to Miyamin, the seventh to Hakkotz, the eighth to Aviyah, the ninth to Yeshua, the tenth to Shekhanyahu, the eleventh to Elyashiv, the twelfth to Yakim, the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Yeshebeab, the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer, the seventeenth to Hetzir, the eighteenth to Happizzez, the nineteenth to Petachyah, the twentieth to Yechezkel, the one and twentieth to Yakhin, the two and twentieth to Gamul, the three and twentieth to Delayah, the four and twentieth to Ma`azyah. This was the ordering of them in their service, to come into the house of the LORD according to the ordinance [given] to them by Aharon their father, as the LORD, theGod of Yisra'el, had commanded him.” (1Chron 24:6-18, CJB)
Gregorian dates are for 2001/2002 and are used only for an example. Since the Hebrew calendar is a lunar calendar and the Gregorian calendar that we use is a solar calendar, the two calendars “float” in relationship to each other.
It is important to remember
that on the Hebrew calendar the day begins and ends at sunset, not at midnight as on the Gregorian calendar. |

The Jews have always expected Eliyahu (Elijah) to come during Pasach. Yochanan (John) the Immerser was born on 15 Nisan (1st day of Pasach) and circumcised on 22 Nisan (8th day of Pasach) in fulfillment of Mal'akhi (Malachi) 4:4-6 which requires that Eliyahu the prophet must come to prepare the hearts of the fathers and their children before Mashiach comes. | 4 Seorim | ||||

* Note that although modern Judaism refers to the entire eight days of Unleavened Bread as “Passover,” according to Scripture, Passover only occurs at twilight [literally, “between the evenings”] on (at the end of) the 14th of Nisan (also called Abib). “In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight is the LORD’s Passover.” (Leviticus 23:5 NAS)
